Action Drawing HERO

On Saturday, we took our families out to see a show at Halla Art Hall in Jeju City. The performance was a bit like the Korean version of the "Blue Man Group," minus the percussion and with A LOT more artistic ability.

Normally, admission is $40 USD {well worth it}, but we got a discount for $14 ;) The show was amazing, funny, witty and was completely done in mime. So many talented artists.

Waiting outside....

 {The hall didn't allow us to take pictures during the show, but here are the artists with their work after the show. The sketches behind them were amazing and crafted live on stage in around ten minutes}.

My pictures:

 {The picture above was a sketch on tar, which was then filled in with orange dust that fell from the ceiling to create this image}.

{This Michael Jackson painting was created by four artists. Each took a turn painting on one of the canvases. At the end of MJ's song, they put it together to make this. Oh, and they moonwalked to Thriller}.

{Superman face created only by Rubik's cubes live on stage. The reverse made a perfect Superman S shape from the same pattern}.

 {This was my favorite piece. Partly, because the group played "Under the Sea" from Disney's The Little Mermaid. Partly, because the group made this painting from marbling : mixing ink in water in a tank on stage to create fish, sea horses, etc.

Beautiful! They gave this one away too :( }.

 {The tiger on the left was finished in ten minutes on stage!!!!! Close up below.}

{Close up of the dragon/warrior: finished free hand in five-ten minutes live onstage}.

Acting the part with the artists: throwing our peace signs up Korean style :)
